I worked hard to build a charmed life and was living that life to the fullest until I took a precipitous fall into the abyss of alcoholism. Unwittingly, I claimed my family as hostages and took them right along with me.

Over the past four years, I overcame addiction and then was able to squarely face down the demons of my past. I found that writing my blog has had great therapeutic value. If along the way my experience can help one person, or maybe even more, that would be very rewarding.

I also hope to bring a small measure of awareness to the “generational cycle of child abuse” still prevalent and persistent in our world today. By bringing awareness to what is often called “Our Nations Shame”, it is my hope that one day soon, we will begin to see real progress toward the awareness and then eradication of child abuse.

That is my hope!
